Itinerary

  Arrival in Sri Lanka and meet your local representative at Bandaranayke International Airport. Transfer to Colombo.Arrival in Sri Lanka and meet your local representative at Bandaranayke International Airport. Transfer to Colombo.

• add Day 2: Colombo/Pinnawela/Kandy

  After having Breakfast at Hotel, Check out & Proceed to Kandy via Pinnawela

   VISIT PINNAWELA ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE

  Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage - App. 55 miles from Colombo, off the Colombo - Kandy road is Pinnawela, where an orphanage was started in 1975 to house the abandoned and the wounded elephants. The number of elephants has increased to more than 65 now; including Baby Elephants brought from various parts, as well as some of the more than 25 babies born, as a result of the captive breeding program. The best time to visit is the feeding time from 13.30-14.00 hrs and the bathing time from 14.00-14.30 hrs when all the elephants are taken to the river close by

  VISIT SPICE GARDEN

  Spice garden- Sri Lanka has long been renowned for its spices. Since ancient times, traders from all over the world who came to Sri Lanka brought their native cuisines to the island, resulting in a rich diversity of cooking styles and techniques. Sri Lankan people use spices liberally in their dishes and typically do. Here you will learn about fragrant clove, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, mace and pepper, and many other favorites such as chocolate and vanilla.

  VISIT ROYAL BOTANICAL GARDEN

  Royal Botanical Garden is situated in the Central Province of Sri Lanka and visited approximately 02 million people annually. The unusual name is Sinhalese translation of guava plain. The garden is notable for its collection of a variety of Orchids. It is home to various species of plants, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. It is also one of the largest botanical gardens of Sri Lanka, an artificial lake with water plants including giant water lily and papyrus seeds is found in the center of the garden

  Proceed to Kandy.

  Kandy the popular charming hill capital of Sri Lanka is surrounded by hills, valleys, rivers, lakes and waterfalls. It is the cultural center of the island and a UNESCO heritage city. The sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha is enshrined at the Dalada Maligawa, the temple of the tooth. While in Kandy, a visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens is a must where you can see around 4000 species of plants. The arts and crafts center in Kandy, the main Buddhist monasteries Malwatta and Asgiriya Monasteries are places that must be visited. Kandy is a great place for souvenir shopping and to learn about its rich culture and history.

  VISIT TEMPLE OF THE TOOTH RELIC

  Ever since 4^th Century A.D, when the Buddha’s Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess’ hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka’s most prized possession

   

  VISIT A GEM MUSEUM

  Then, witness the CULTURAL DANCE SHOW featuring various dancing types of Sri Lanka. (Entrance Ticket to Cultural Dance should be Collected from Gem Museum or paid by the Guest)

  Colombo - Although reclaiming its 19th-century moniker 'the garden city of the East' is unlikely, Colombo is rapidly emerging as a must-see stop in Sri Lanka. No longer just the sprawling city you have to endure on your way to the southern beaches, it has become a worthy destination in its own right. The legacies of colonial Colombo's garden roots are still very much intact along its often shady boulevards. Fort is in the midst of widespread historic restoration of its landmark colonial architecture, while Pettah brims with markets and rampant commerce. Even traffic-clogged Galle Rd is getting spiffier with glossy new hotel complexes, while the seafront benefits from new roads that are spurring hotel construction. Colombo’s cosmopolitan side supports ever-more stylish eateries, galleries and museums. Surprises abound in its old quarters where you can find great local food and discover a characterful shop or tiny, convivial cafe. The capital is an excellent start – or finish – to your Sri Lankan adventures. Other places of interest are the   Pettah bazaar one can shop for bargain, a Hindu and a  Buddhist temple, residential  areas  where  You find the stately homes  of the affluent, the Colombo museum , the  Bandaranaike  Memorial National Conference Hall (BMICH) - an outright gift to Sri Lanka from the People's Republic of China.      

  Evening, Transfer to flight to Maldives.
